One of the generators at the Lakvijaya Power Plant in Norochcholai has broken down last night (21), according to CEB sources. Due to this, it is reported that there have been occasional power outages in several areas last night.
This generator broke down at a time when one of the major generators that was recently shut is being reactivated today and is about to be put back into the national system.
When we inquired about this from the General Manager of the Ceylon Electricity Board M.R Ranatunga, he said that the staff is currently working to rectify the situation.
He said that steps have been taken to revive the generator which broke down recently today (22) and if successful, it would be possible to maintain the generator in the country as a whole except for a few minor problems. said.
