The governing body of Arabic school belonging to Jumma Masjid Islamic Church in Katukele, Kandy, has decided to teach all muslim students, Buddhism based on Tripitaka and Abhidharma as a subject.
According to the invitation of the Jumma Masjid, a group of sixty monks, including Ven Konakalagala Uditha of the Udarata Amarapura sect, visited the Islamic school today (19) to find out how the relevant program is being implemented.
Sinhala copies of the Holy Quran were also presented to the Maha Sangharatna.
Uditha Anunahimio of Konakalagala said that in the future, Islamic maulvis and students will be invited to see how the religious activities are conducted in Buddhist shrines.
It is also special that on this day all the religious rites of the Jumma Masjid Islam Church are conducted in Sinhala.
