Alleged Attempt to Access Princess of Wales' Medical Records Reported

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is investigating reports suggesting that staff at a hospital where the Princess of Wales underwent surgery attempted to access her private health information.

The Daily Mirror reported that employees at the London Clinic, a facility frequently patronized by members of the royal family, allegedly tried to view the princess’s medical reports. The ICO confirmed receipt of a “breach report” and is conducting inquiries into the matter.

According to the Mirror, at least one staff member was caught attempting to access the princess’s medical notes. The London Clinic has initiated an internal investigation in response to these claims.

Princess Catherine underwent abdominal surgery for undisclosed reasons in January and has withdrawn from public engagements during her recovery period. A Kensington Palace spokesperson refrained from confirming or denying the Mirror’s report, stating that it was a matter for The London Clinic.

The allegations surfaced amidst online speculation regarding the princess’s health, exacerbated by a manipulated Mother’s Day photo of her and her children. The princess spent nearly two weeks at the London Clinic, with plans to recuperate until after Easter.

However, Prince William and Catherine were recently spotted shopping in Windsor, marking their first public appearance since Christmas.
