A special operation has been launched to arrest these drug trafficking indigenous women of Dalukana Veddhah village who are are secretly engaged in heroin and Cannabis selling to nearby villages Manampitiya police said.
According to the officer in charge of Manampitiya Police station Inspector Asela Sarath Kumara said that youths in Dalukana tribal village have been victims of heroin and Cannabis.Theses addicted youth have been compelled to sell out all what they have for find money to buy these narcotics , Police said.
In an operation conducted in connection with this, the police arrested four people between the ages of 20-30 who were addicted to heroin and were selling it in the two villages of Dimbulagala Dalukana and Manampitiya yesterday (18).
When the suspects were arrested, a woman who allegedly brought heroin has fled evading from being arrested, the police said.
