A politico hurries Upeksha Swarnamali to release on bail

Popular film actress and former parliamentarian Upeksha Swarnamali, who has been in police custody since yesterday (25) evening for reckless driving, has been released on police bail under the influence of a powerful politician currently in Tokyo. Sources said a Politician in Kandy was instructed over the phone by the said politician from abroad and the preparations were made to release Upeksha accordingly.
Katugastota acting OIC KNP Senaratne has granted her bail today (26) while the victim of the accident she was responsible is in Peradeniya Hospital.
According to the internal sources of the police, the relatives of the 18-year youth involved in the accident has been summoned to the police station and action is being taken to end the incident by paying them some compensation.
Upeksha’s vehicle has collided with a scooter and the 18 year old rider was rushed to Peradeniya Teaching Hospital last evening.
Police said this morning that Upeksha Swaranamali would be produced in court, but later said she was was released on police bail as he was not in serious condition.
Police said that she would be given a date to appear before the court at a later date.
