A new Ministry gazzetted as Economic Policies and planning

According to a special gazette notification issued by the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday (07), a Ministry has been gazetted as Ministry of Economic Policies and Planning.

It is believed that this ministry has gazetted on behalf of Basil Rajapaksa who is to be sworn in  as a Cabinet Minister in Parliament this morning today (08).

According to the Vistas of Prosperity Policy Statement, the functions and functions of the Ministry are to formulate the National Budget to formulate policies in line with the directives to be implemented by the Government on economic policies and plans.

Department of National Planning, Department of Census and Statistics, Institute of Policy Studies, Sustainable Development Council, Comptroller General’s Office, Valuation Department, Board of Accounts and Audit Standards Survey Board of Sri Lanka, Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka, Welfare Benefits Board the Public Service Mutual Provident Fund Association have been gazetted under that Ministry.

The Ministry has also placed the task of coordinating with the Presidential Task Force on Rural Development to talk to the village, which has so far been entrusted to Namal Rajapaksa.

 

Coordinating District and Regional Development Committees and Provincial Council Development Activities, Presidential Task Force on Poverty Alleviation and Economic Rehabilitation,

 

The Ministry has also gazetted to facilitate development activities in coordination with all Ministries in coordination with the Presidential Task Force on Creating a Green Social Economy with Sustainable Solutions to Climate Change.
