A national level badminton referee has died after being attacked by a wild elephant on the Kebithigollewa road in Vavuniya yesterday (19).
Judge Sivapalasundaram Mayuran, 33, a resident of Trincomalee has arrived Vavuniya by a train and was attacked by a wild elephant while he was traveling in a bike from Vavuniya at night.
The body of the deceased has been placed at the Kebithigollewa Hospital morgue and the Kebithigollewa Police are conducting investigations.
