A Tamil political prisoner who had been languishing in jail for twenty-three years entered nuptial bonds soon after he was released on a common amnesty announced by the President.
The prisoner married his childhood friend, seven days after returning to the village.
Sakthivel Ilangeswaran, a resident of Vavuniya, has thus entered married life, and a large number of people have come to participate in the wedding procession for his marriage voluntarily.
His girlfriend waited for so long until his release to marry him. Accordingly, seven days after his release, he married his fiancée, who had lived with hope for so long.
