The Ambalangoda police said that a deputy principal of Dharmashoka Vidyalaya, Ambalangoda, was injured in a shooting incident this morning (26) in the Randombe area of Ambalangoda.
The Deputy Principal was on his way to the school by motorcycle when he was shot at. The police said that two unknown gunmen fired at him, and the deputy principal has gone up to the Ambalangoda police on his motorcycle after being shot. He is a resident of Balapitiya, Migettuwatte.
The police said that he is the nephew of an underworld figure named Kosgoda Suji.
The reason for this shooting has not yet been established, and the police say that this is the second shooting that took place in Ambalangoda within twelve hours.
