Nearly 25 people, including children, have been hospitalized after being struck by lightning this evening (26) while attending a funeral in the Mawanella area, police said.
The accident took place at the Baminiwatta Cemetery in Mawanella.

Mawanella Police OIC Chief Inspector Lasantha Kaluarachchi said that these people have been admitted to the Mawanella Hospital following the incident.
