Six Sri Lankan fishermen who went to sea from Jaffna were arrested by the Indian Navy officials in the Tamil Nadu sea yesterday (19). They were arrested on the charge of violating the sea territories.
The Coast Guard officers who arrested the fishing vessel in which these fishermen were onboard have handed over the six fishermen to the Tamil Nadu Thiruvaikulam Police.

The fishermen told the police that the fishing vessel they were traveling in broke down in the middle of the sea and the vessel drifted towards Tamil Nadu.
The Tamil Nadu Chiruvaikulam police have started investigations into the incident.
