Three officers from the Athurugiriya Police Station, including a Sub-Inspector, have been temporarily reassigned to the Mirihana Police Headquarters following an investigation into the wrongful arrest of writer Kasun Mahendra Heenatigala, son-in-law of the late legendary artist Jackson Anthony.
The Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Corruption Unit and two police constables were transferred on the directive of the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) for the Colombo Southern Division. This action follows a complaint lodged by Heenatigala at the Police Headquarters Relief Cell.
