Missile Attack Targets Fuel Tanker Chartered by Qatar Energy

Qatar Energy has confirmed that a fuel oil tanker operating under its charter was struck in a missile attack early hours of  today (April 1, 2026).

The vessel, identified as Aqua 1, was targeted while navigating in the northern territorial waters of the State of Qatar. According to an official statement issued by Qatar Energy, the attack occurred during the early hours of the day.

Despite the seriousness of the incident, all crew members onboard the tanker escaped unharmed. Authorities also confirmed that there has been no environmental damage, with no reports of oil leakage or pollution following the attack.

Qatar Energy did not immediately provide further details regarding the source of the missile or the circumstances surrounding the attack. Investigations are expected to be launched to determine responsibility and assess maritime security risks .
