The International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS) recently hosted its 15th degree and certificate conferment ceremony in Colombo, awarding degrees and certificates to approximately 800 students who completed various courses, including foundation, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees.
Over 3,500 health professionals have graduated from IIHS globally, with about 2,500 becoming government nurses. The institution, committed to meeting the rising demand for health professionals, has also provided international job opportunities for over 500 trained professionals.
Notably, more than 790 qualified nurses from Coventry University in the UK received degrees at this ceremony, marking the largest number of international students graduating from an international branch of Coventry University. IIHS, in collaboration with Coventry University, offers high-quality courses, and the ceremony included the graduation of the largest number of nursing officers receiving master’s degrees for the first time in Sri Lanka.
With a history of over two decades, IIHS has introduced various medical education courses adhering to global best practices and standards. The institution has also implemented programs focused on research and community development, contributing to the training of thousands of research professionals and enhancing the professionalism of numerous other experts.
