DHS Gem and Jewellery, a leading name in Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery industry, was honoured as the Leading Exporter of the Year (Medium) at the Business World International Awards. Organised by the Business World International Organisation (BWIO), the event took place recently at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo.

The award, received by DHS Gem and Jewellery’s Managing Director, Deshamanya, Prof., Dr. Duminda de Silva, recognised the company for its outstanding contributions to the industry. The evaluation criteria included Business Leadership, Product Quality, Services, Management Systems, Innovation, Creativity, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Achievements. Over the past, the company has achieved many local and international awards and quality certifications.

Founded in 2006, DHS Gem and Jewellery has quickly established itself as a leading player in the gem and jewellery export industry, supplying high-quality products to all parts of the world. The company’s mission is to showcase Sri Lankan gems on the global stage, bringing in vital foreign exchange and promoting the nation’s rich gem heritage. With two branches located in Dambulla and Colombo, the company regularly participates in international gem exhibitions to further promote Sri Lanka’s precious stones.

“We have always placed great emphasis on building customer confidence by being professional and paying attention to detail. Many of our customers continue working with us, which is why we’ve come so far in a short period. Even during challenging times such as the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to continue our operations and bring in significant foreign exchange when the country was facing economic challenges. I am proud of the hard work and dedication of our staff who are the pillars of our success” said Prof. Dr. Duminda de Silva.
