Annika Senanayake Appointed Chairperson of Janashakthi Insurance PLC

Annika Senanayake, a prominent business leader with over 15 years of experience, has been appointed as the Chairperson of Janashakthi Insurance PLC, effective 1 January 2025. The company announced her appointment yesterday, marking a significant milestone in its leadership journey.

Senanayake, the daughter of renowned business figure Arthur Senanayake, brings a wealth of expertise from her tenure at IWS Holdings Group, a diversified conglomerate with interests spanning telecommunications, logistics, media, aviation, food and beverage processing, and more. Her extensive experience in corporate planning and strategic growth is expected to play a key role in driving Janashakthi Insurance through its next phase of expansion.


In addition to her new role, Senanayake serves as a Director at IWS Holdings Ltd., RAD Productions Ltd., RAD Productions USA LLC, Ceylon Natural Rubber Ltd., and Scan Furniture Ltd. She is also a Committee Member of the Young Directors Forum at The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID). Previously, she held notable positions as an Independent, Non-Executive Director at Sampath Bank PLC and CEO of ART Television Broadcasting Co.
