Ousted minister MP Wimal Weerawansa told the media today (03) that there was a positive response from the President to his proposal to dissolve the cabinet and establish an interim government.
He says that at the request of the President, Udaya Gammanpila, Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Tiran Alles and himself had a special discussion last evening (03) and after a lengthy discussion, the President’s positive response was published for interim administration.
The group had also met the Prime Minister this morning.
He said he had suggested to the government that the only acceptable solution to the current crisis was to dissolve the cabinet and try to reach an all-party agreement with all parties.
“Establish a multi-party agreement and establish an interim government. Only then will it be possible to control this dissatisfaction that arises from the general public. We presented our proposal in this manner.
