The main road connecting Colombo and Kandy has been temporarily closed at the Pahala Kadugannawa area. Authorities made this decision due to the high risk of landslides and falling rocks caused by heavy rains.
The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has warned that the slopes in this area are unstable. Therefore, to ensure the safety of travelers, the road will remain closed until further notice.
Drivers are advised to use alternative routes to reach their destinations.
