The Ministry of Health is planning to launch an app to register patients undergoing PCR and Rapid Antigen Test.

Deputy Director General of Health Dr. Saman Ratnayake says that the program is ready to be implemented within the next week. He further points out that it is quick and easy to analyze the information of the persons subjected to the tests.

He said that using the relevant app, the details of those who are subjected to PCR and rapid antigen tests will be registered on the spot through a smartphone, which will enable the laboratory system, the Ministry of Health and the Epidemiology Unit to view the information instantly.

He also said that in order to achieve the target of 20,000 PCR tests per day, five new government hospitals and five private hospitals have been approved to conduct PCR tests.
