In a landmark moment for Sri Lanka’s industrial and construction landscape, Ceylon Energy officially launched the country’s first-ever Helical Anchor manufacturing facility on May 8th, 2025, in collaboration with the globally renowned Hubbell Power Systems Inc. (HPS). The inaugural event was graced by Hon. Asoka Ranwala, Member of Parliament, along with high-ranking delegates from Hubbell Power Systems, the Ceylon Electricity Board, and other distinguished guests from Sri Lanka’s business, engineering and construction fraternity. This facility, which represents a major technological leap for the nation, is not only a first in Sri Lanka but also positions the country as a regional manufacturing and export hub for Helical Anchors, an innovation pioneered and patented by HPS that has transformed foundation systems across the world.

Helical Anchors, a century-old invention by HPS, have radically redefined how foundation solutions are engineered across diverse terrains and structures. Unlike traditional foundation methods, Helical Anchors offer rapid installation, minimal soil disruption, and exceptional load-bearing capacity, making them a sustainable and cost-effective alternative for modern infrastructure projects. Ceylon Energy, the exclusive partner introducing this technology to Sri Lanka, ensured that it was extensively tested in various local soil conditions before commercial rollout, just as it has been across the globe. The Helical Anchor system is now poised to streamline construction timelines, reduce costs, and support greener building practices across the country.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Madusanka Fernando, Chairman of Ceylon Energy, shared the company’s wider vision: “If we do not think of the next generations, we are very selfish. Through all these innovations, we look at bringing sustainable solutions enabling a better habitat for the generations to come.” He emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership with HPS, not just to serve Sri Lanka’s local infrastructure needs, but to act as a gateway to South East Asia, East Africa, and other emerging markets. This new manufacturing facility is expected to drive significant foreign remittance inflows to the country, offering economic and employment benefits while raising Sri Lanka’s profile on the global industrial map.

Founded with a mission to bring innovative, reliable, and sustainable energy and engineering solutions to Sri Lanka, Ceylon Energy has rapidly grown into a trusted name in the industry. With a strong focus on community impact, environmental stewardship, and cutting-edge technology, the company continues to pioneer transformative projects that build a better tomorrow. The Helical Anchor factory is yet another step in Ceylon Energy’s unwavering commitment to progress, showcasing how innovation, global partnerships, and forward-thinking leadership can together create lasting change.
