Controversy over Police ASP Interviews
In November 2023, on the 18th and 19th, the Department of Examinations held a limited competitive exam to recruit Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP). However, controversy arose when a female police inspector, who was abroad and did not attend the exam, was called for the interview based on her written exam results. This has caused a lot of unrest within the police force.

Although she did not attend the exam, the female officer, who works in the State Intelligence Unit, was selected for the interview based on the written exam results. It was also reported that a police chief and a senior police officer, who worked as his personal assistant, handpicked candidates for the interview based on their personal opinions, trying to fill the ASP positions through the exam.
There were also claims that a well-known police officer, had provided the exam questions and answers to his close associates in the police force, including senior officers and inspectors. These allegations have sparked concerns about corruption in the recruitment process.
This situation has raised questions about the fairness of the exams, and many in the police force are calling for an explanation from the Department of Examinations. The controversy is damaging the reputation of the Department of Examinations.
