The Department of Examinations has postponed the Advanced Level Examination for an additional three days due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions.
Commissioner General of Examinations, Amit Jayasundara, announced that the 2024 Advanced Level Examination will now resume on Wednesday, December 4.
The department previously decided not to hold exams on November 27, 28, and 29 due to the weather. With this latest announcement, exams will also not take place on November 30, December 2, and December 3.
Although the weather conditions have begun to improve, the decision was made to support students affected by the disruptions.
The exams will resume on Wednesday, December 4, as originally scheduled, with the following papers:
- Chemistry Paper 1 (morning)
- Technology Paper 1 (morning)
- Drama and Theatre Arts Paper 1 in Sinhala, Tamil, and English (evening)
- Political Science Paper 1 (evening)
The postponed exam papers will be rescheduled as follows:
- Exams missed on Wednesday, November 27, will be held on Saturday, December 21.
- Exams missed on Thursday, November 28, will be held on Monday, December 23.
- Exams missed on Friday, November 29, will be held on Friday, December 27.
- Exams missed on Saturday, November 30, will be held on Saturday, December 28.
- Exams missed on Monday, December 2, will be held on Monday, December 30.
- Exams missed on Tuesday, December 3, will be held on Tuesday, December 31.
Additionally, the General Public Examination scheduled for Saturday, December 7, will proceed as planned, with its schedule printed in a distinct color for clarity.
