Rashi Prabha Ratwatte, the wife of former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte, has been remanded until November 7 in connection with an illegally assembled vehicle incident. She appeared before the Gangodawila Magistrate’s Court today (November 4) after receiving a notice to do so. At that time, Rashi Prabha Ratwatte was arrested and subsequently presented to the court, where the Gangodawila Magistrate ordered her remand until the 7th.
Both Rashi Prabha and her husband, Lohan Ratwatte, have reportedly shown little cooperation with the investigation related to the illegally assembled luxury jeep hidden in a property owned by her. She initially misled investigators by falsely claiming that the vehicle was brought to her home by her husband’s secretary, Sanjeewa Basnayake, who has since passed away under circumstances reported as suicide.
Rashi Prabha was instructed to appear before the Mirihana Police for further questioning and to provide a statement regarding the incident. However, she evaded these requests until today when she appeared before the Mirihana Police, where she was then arrested. Meanwhile, Lohan Ratwatte is currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital after being remanded in connection with the same vehicle-related incident.
