The police have apprehended the wife and father of the main suspect involved in the Beliyatta five-person murder case. The primary suspect is currently in hiding in the state of Dubai, and the arrests occurred in the Pathagama Muddaragama area within the jurisdiction of the Pallewela police.
The suspect in question is reported to be a retired Navy personnel receiving a Navy pension. Interrogations during the arrests have revealed that the main shooter, a retired Navy soldier, left for the Beliaatta area on January 21 and subsequently fled to Dubai after committing the crime.
According to investigative sources, an individual with expertise in Dubai facilitated the arrangement of flight tickets for the suspect’s escape. The arrests of the suspect’s 39-year-old wife and 72-year-old father are significant steps in the ongoing investigation into the tragic Beliyatta murder case.
