Colombo Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasinghe today (26) ordered to issuance of a red warrant in English, ordering the arrest of four suspects who are said to be supporting the Al Qaeda terrorist organization.
These red warrants were issued to four people named Ahmed Khalil Luqman Talib, Ahman Luqmand Haleen, Abdul Bahin Mohammad Lebbe, and Mohammad Pahir Ripon who are said to be residents of Australia and Syria,
According to a request made by the Terrorism Investigation Division.
They are residents in the Kaleliya and Kalagedihena areas of Sri Lanka.
In 2021, the Terrorism Investigation Division prosecuted ten suspects accused of aiding and abetting the Al Qaeda organization, and four of those suspects were issued red warrants.
The Attorney General has proceeded to file super charges before the Colombo High Court against five other suspects who were presented to the court about this complaint and the case is currently under investigation.
The investigating officer who testified by presenting an affidavit to the court stated that the first, second, named suspect and slave suspect in the case had gone abroad. – Sri Lanka
