Husband and Wife Arrested for Brutally Assaulting a Young Woman

Kandana police have arrested a husband and wife couple who brutally assaulted a young woman. These suspects were arrested at Lipton Road, Nagoda area of Kandana Police yesterday (14) night.

This attack was spread on social media in the last two days. It was not revealed who committed this crime.

Investigations regarding the incident have started on the basis of information received from a telephone number received yesterday (14).

Accordingly, the Kandana Police who started the investigation have discovered that this indecent attack took place in a private institution in the Aniyakanda Road, Nagoda area of the Kandana Police.

The suspects were are arrested following the discovery. They were believed to be a a 36-year-old couple residing in Nagoda area. It has been revealed that these suspects are close relatives of the girl who was attacked.

The investigation team says that the assaulted young woman had been working for three years while staying close to the couple who were running an online trading business in the Aniyakanda area.

Initially, the girl did not report to the police because the suspect couple were relatives of the girl. However, the girl who was assaulted said that she decided to come to the police due to the fact that the video footage of the incident was circulated on social media.
