Professor Ashoka Dangolla, the Head of the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Peradeniya, has expressed concern over the condition of Maharagama Seetha, stating that it is not satisfactory.
Dr. Dangolla revealed that they have received an order from the magistrate to remove the remaining metal parts from Seetha’s body. The professor explained that they plan to conduct the necessary surgery to remove these metal parts as soon as possible.
Furthermore, Professor Dangolla emphasized the poor health of Seetha Elephant Despite her intake of food, her stomach remains swollen, and she is unable to sleep, which causes significant discomfort.
The injuries to Seetha occurred when a civil defense officer fired seven shots at her while she was being escorted to participate in the annual procession at the Maiyangana Rajamaha Vihara and parked at the puja ground.
