Yesterday afternoon (5), a suspect, who was apprehended with 2150 mg of heroin, sustained serious injuries after jumping from the second floor of the Kandy Court Complex. The individual was subsequently admitted to the emergency unit of Kandy National Hospital.
The arrest of the suspect took place on Sunday afternoon (4) in front of Kandy Police, executed by the anti-corruption unit of the same police station. While being escorted by the police to appear before the court, the suspect leapt from the second floor of the court complex.
Promptly responding to the injured suspect’s condition, the police officers arranged for an ambulance and swiftly transported him to the hospital for medical attention.
Further investigations have revealed that the thirty-year-old suspect, a resident of Higurakgoda, has suspected of involvement in drug trafficking.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Kandy Police.
