The Ministry of Cultural Affairs has queried the Inspector General of Police as to why the police are hiding facts and protecting the suspects when the three main suspects who removed the “Sandagala” historical monument from the Uda Malwa (upper deck) Archaeological Reserve in Kundasala on the 14th have been identified.
This rare historical monument was located in the archaeological reserve and identified as the location of the palace of Sri Weeraparakrama Narendrasingha, the last Sinhalese king, who reigned for 32 years from 1707 to 1739 AD.
