It is reported that Basil Rajapaksa, who participated in discussions with the Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi and her husband Kanchana Jayaratne, is currently under quarantine.
Rajapaksa (23) had undergone a rapid antigen test yesterday and it was confirmed that he was not infected with the virus.However he will undergo self quarantine till a PCR test is conducted.
The minister’s husband is a former Sabaragamuwa Provincial Councilor and is now more involved in the activities of the SLPP office in Nelum Mawatha as well as Basil Rajapaksa’s political activities.
It was first revealed that the Minister was infected with Covid during a discussion held at the Nelum Mawatha office last Friday evening.
He had abruptly halted the discussion and the Nelum Mawatha office was closed and disinfected yesterday.
