Workers to be sent to Isreal only through government going forward

Minister of Labor Nimal Siripala de Silva says that according to the diplomatic agreement reached between the Government of Israel and the Government of Sri Lanka, only the government will send workers to Israel going forward.

According to the Minister the agreement was reached after it was revealed that private agencies were charging exorbitant amounts from workers for securing employment for them in the domestic care and agriculture sector in Isreal. The workers will now instead be sent to the country through the Foreign Employment Bureau. The decision was made at a meeting held at the bureau recently.
