Minister Wimal Weerawansa might be facing threats from the Rajapaksa family itself, says the leader of the Pawadi Handa Ven. Murutthettuwe Ananda Thera.
Ven. Murutthettuwe Ananda Thera said this in an interview with ‘Truth with Chamuditha’ on YouTube regarding the current crisis in the government based on the statement made by Minister Wimal Weerawansa regarding the leadership of the SLPP in a newspaper.
“After the defeat of Mahinda Rajapaksa on January 8, 2015, the Mahinda Sulanga National Program was launched by the present Minister of Industries Wimal Weerawansa Udaya Gammanpila, Bandula Gunawardena, Vasudeva Nanayakkara and Dinesh Gunawardena from Nugegoda.”
The statement made by the General Secretary of the party Sagara Kariyawasam regarding Wimal Weerawansa shows how bankrupt Kariyawasam is. It is also against our Buddhism to forget the people who helped at the beginning.
“There were many people like Devadatta in the time of Buddha. There may be such people today.”
“Wimal Weerawansa has a good voice. We have to accept that. No one who shouts at him has that voice. The hypocritical thought came that Wimal Weerawansa would become a leader in this country in the future. That fear is the key to this. Only a handful of politicians are doing this” he said
