The admission of patients to cardiology wards 34 and 36 of the Colombo National Hospital has been stopped due to a corona patient, hospital sources said.

A hospital spokesman said that a patient in the Ja-Ela area who was admitted to the hospital for a heart operation was diagnosed with the Covid virus after showing symptoms.

The spokesman further said that with this confirmation, it has been decided to transfer the patient to the IDH Hospital and to keep the patients who have been treated in the two wards quarantined in the hospital following the health safety procedures.

PCR testing on the health staff, other staffers, and patients have also commenced.
