Two new ministries! One for Dhammika Perera!

Establishment of two more new ministries, The Ministry of Technology and Investment Promotion and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and Social Empowerment, announced in a special gazette notification by the President.
As per the scopes and institutions specified in this Gazette Notification, 15 institution including Department of Registration of Persons, Department of Immigration and Emigration, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, Port City Commission, Institute of Industrial Technology, Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology , Sri Lanka Standards Institution, Lotus Tower Management Company which is the company affiliated to the Lotus Tower has been gazetted under the new Ministry of Technology and Investment Promotion.
Political commentators speculate that the new ministry, which includes a number of key institutions in the economy and investment, will be handed over to Dhammika Perera, a powerful business leader who is set to replace Basil Rajapaksa as a Member of Parliament. According to the sources, Dhammika Perera is currently aspiring for the post and is expected to hold a ministry post in the economy.
In addition, an unconfirmed source told Lankasara that the gazetted portfolio of Minister for Children, Women’s Affairs and Social Empowerment was also created with the aim of targeting an female Opposition MP who is about to join the government. The sources told Lankasara that the MP had held several rounds of discussions with the heads of government in the recent past.
