Outgoing US President Donald Trump has fired his Secretary of Defence Mark Esper.
The President has stated that Christopher Miller, the head of the National Counterterrorism Center, has been appointed to the post.
Following his removal from office Esper is claimed to have said “Mr. President, thank you for your decision on my behalf.”
