According to reliable sources Lankasara has learnt that a powerful politician who was aspiring for a top post in the government is making a concerted effort to field his brother as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the North Central Provincial Council and his daughter as a candidate for the forthcoming Provincial Council elections.
The sources said that the politician has claimed he does not need a post if the above request is fulfilled and that the said politician has already made a request to the government.
Although the politician had planned to field his brother as the Chief Ministerial candidate and his daughter as a candidate for the forthcoming Provincial Council elections under the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, it is learned that a Chief Minister of the North Central Provincial Council and several Ministers of the SLPP have already voiced their opposition against it.
