Three more people have been identified with fast spreading Delta variant of Covid from Colombo the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena said. All three are employees of a construction site in Colombo and are currently being treated at the Kandakadu Intermediate Treatment Center.
Five people infected with the Delta variety were found in the Dematagoda area and a patient was recently found in Madiwela. In addition, a patient infected with the Delta variant was identified in the Polgasowita area in Kahathuduwa yesterday (29).
Meanwhile, randomly taken samples from the Anuradhapura, Puttalam and Mannar districts were tested to see whethe the Delta strain had spread throughout the country, and no sample found with Delta variant.
