The Cabinet also has endorsed the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation’s yesterday decision to restrict fuel distribution only for essential services . Until 10th of July fuel will be issued only for essential services from mid night today(27) until Cabinet spokesman Minister Bandula Gunawardane said.
The minister also said that the government is planning to request all public and private sector institutions to apply for work from home facilities till July 10 because of the ongoing fuel crisis.
Both public and private sectors should apply this strategy as fuel will be supplied to only to essential services, such as health sector, transportation of food and agricultural sector and hospitals, Minister Gunawardene said.
The country will go for a lockdown eventually as the interprovincial travel restrictions and the fuel shortage.
