The Constitutional Council will meet this evening! Will there be a discussion about the new IGP?

The Constitutional Council is scheduled to meet this afternoon (March 24) in Parliament to discuss matters relating to the independent commissions.

According to parliamentary sources, the appointment of new members for independent commissions will be taken up on a priority basis at this meeting, which will be chaired by the speaker.

The government had previously invited qualified candidates to apply for membership on the relevant independent commissions, and the members would be appointed based on their suitability.

According to parliamentary sources, parliament has received over 1500 applications to be appointed as members of the independent commissions.

.    Accordingly, it is stated that the selection of suitable members from among these applications will be discussed during today’s meeting.
