The loud noise from a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) political meeting held in Thambuttegama town yesterday caused serious disturbance to Advanced Level students sitting for examinations at the Thambuttegama National School, the Examination Coordinator has complained to the Officer-in-Charge of the Thambuttegama Police.
The meeting was held at a function hall in the town to appoint a Divisional Organiser for the Anuradhapura District of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
A group of students who arrived to sit for the second question paper of the GCE Advanced Level examination this afternoon were inconvenienced, Lankadeepa reports.
According to reports, examination hall supervisors informed the Examination Coordinator that the excessive noise was seriously disturbing the students during the exam. A formal complaint has since been lodged with the police regarding the incident.
