Tarinda Ratwatte who caused accident killing SIS officer bailed out

Tarinda Ratwatte, the 24-year-old law student who was arrested in connection to the accident in Thummulla, which took the life of a Police Officer was granted bail today. It was revealed that Ratwatte was under the influence of alcohol when the accident took place. 

When the case was taken up at the Aluthkade Magistrates Court today (19) he was released on two personal bails of Rs. 200 000 each.

The accident on June 11 resulted in the death of SIS officer PC Sithum Alahapperuma and left another critically injured. Alapahhperuwam just days before had foiled the robbery attempt at the National Hospital. He was 22 years at the time of his death.
