Tamil politicians are up in arms over Ravi’s visit to Mannar with several business partners.

Vanni District Member of Parliament of Tamil National Alliance and leader of the TELO organization Selvam Adeikalanathan has requested the government to provide an explanation behind former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake’s sudden visit to Mannar with a group of businessmen in a helicopter.

The MP says that the former finance minister has come to Mannar with a group of high-ranking officials of a Sri Lankan seafood processing company. He says that at least the fisheries minister should give some reasoning behind his visit.

MP Adeikalanathan said that the people of the North are facing numerous hardships due to the implementation of various projects by the governments without informing the Tamil politicians in the North.

He said that the Tamil National Alliance is strongly opposed to giving the resources of the north to other people in other countries.

He said that a lot of doubt has arisen regarding the former finance minister’s sudden visit to Mannar.

Selvam Adeikalanathan added that when journalists from Mannar asked the former minister for details about the visit, he left for Colombo by helicopter without responding. It is very clear that he has not come for a bona fide purpose.
