A suspect has been arrested for exploding a locally manufactured explosive device thereby causing injuries to a Sri Lanka Army soldier in the Neervely area. The suspect was arrested today (17) in Kopai, Jaffna.
The youth, aged 25 is a resident of Neervely. He has been handed over to the Police Terrorist Investigations Division (TID) to ascertain if he has any connections to a terror outfit.
He was arrested based on a tip-off received by the Kopai Police following investigations into the incident by the Army and the Police.
