A group engaged in demining in the Kilinochchi, Muhamalai area on Tuesday (22) have come across a stock of suspected LTTE uniforms, a cache of weapons, two cyanide pills, parts of a firearm, and bombs.
Among the findings were also two identification dog tags usually worn by LTTE cadres. The tags had the numbers 188 and 308 on them. The Police said there was also an unclear photograph suspected to be of the duo taken with LTTE leader Prabhakaran.
The location where the items were found was visited by the Kilinochchi Magistrate T.Saravanaraj who ordered the Police to carry out further investigations. Accordingly, Kilinochchi and Palai Police are investigating.
