Steps to increase repatriation of Sri Lankans residing abroad

The government has taken steps to increase the repatriation of Sri Lankans currently living abroad. Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said that at present about 300 Sri Lankans are arriving in Sri Lanka daily.He said it was decided to increase that number to 500 in the future.

Meanwhile, another 191 expatriate Sri Lankans arrived in the island this morning.The duty manager at the Katunayake airport said 42 had arrived from Abu Dhabi, 96 from Qatar and 52 from Chennai.

They have all undergone PCR testing and have been referred for quarantine now.
