A group of Sri Lankans living in the Somali capital Mogadishu has not been able to return to Sri Lanka due to the COVID 19 pandemic. It is reported that 13 Sri Lankans have been staying in the capital Mogadishu for 6 months without pay.

Due to the lack of a Sri Lankan Embassy in Somalia, they have informed the Sri Lankan Embassy in Ethiopia of their plight, reports said.

A Sri Lankan staying in the country had told Sri Lankan media outlet Ada Derana that he was requesting the government to bring back his group who were in dire straits without pay.
