South Indian investors are invited to invest in Sri Lanka

In view of enhancing awareness of trade and investment opportunities available in Sri Lanka, the Deputy High Commission of Sri Lanka in Chennai together with the Southern India Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI) organized a “Doing business with Sri Lanka” business discussion on 20 December 2022 at SICCI auditorium in Chennai.

Addressing the meeting, President Ar Rm Arun and Secretary Vinod Solomon of SICCI warmly welcomed the Deputy High Commissioner and highlighted the long-standing bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and India.

Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Chennai Dr. Venkateshwaran highlighted potential investment avenues available in Sri Lanka, and facilities and incentives being provided by the Government to foreign traders and investors. He invited an investor delegation to Sri Lanka next year.

The event was followed by an interactive session which was attended by thirty well-established traders and investors from various business and investment sectors in South India such as renewable energy, textiles, pharmaceutical, automobile, electronic and IT/BPO.
