Shammi Silva was elected as the President of Sri Lanka Cricket for the fourth time today, unopposed.
First appointed as President in 2019, Silva has been a controversial figure, facing numerous allegations. A motion was even passed in Parliament with an overwhelming majority to dissolve the cricket board under his leadership. However, despite the criticism, he secured re-election in 2021 and 2023 and has once again retained the position.
The 65-year-old Shammi Silva is an bold boy of Nalanda College, Colombo.
