Remain cautious Army Commander tells public

Army Commander Lt. General Shavendra Silva has called on the public to remain cautious on possible Covid 19 threats. The Commander said the people should not lower their guard and assume that Covid 19 has been eradicated.

While noting there is no community spread of the virus in Sri Lanka now, he said the threat of that happening cannot be ruled out. The Commander also said the recently reported cases of Covid 19 are all arrivals from abroad.

According to Silva despite the threat, the government policy remains that Sri Lankans trapped abroad will continue to be repatriated. Therefore he said that the public must exercise caution and not assume the threat has been completely eliminated.
