Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) MP Chanakyan Rasamanikkam stated in Parliament today that he possesses undisclosed information about the Easter Sunday attacks and is willing to share it with the government for further investigation.
Rasamanikkam emphasized that his team was the first to reveal details about the Tripoli group. He also handed over a letter to former Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, outlining 32 crimes and illegal transactions allegedly committed by Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, also known as Pillayan. However, no action was taken regarding the allegations.
“We still have information about the Easter attacks, and the Defense Minister has already been informed. The Defense Minister is present here today. Give us a chance to assist. We presented numerous facts about the Tripoli platoon in Parliament. Allow us to connect these groups and uncover more evidence,” Rasamanikkam urged.
He added, “A letter was submitted to the former Prime Minister, listing 32 issues, including these allegations. Nothing was done. We also highlighted instances of fraud and corruption, including land grabs and illicit financial activities involving government lands. The current President or Prime Minister should seek our insights. Investigate these matters as the people of the country are watching.”
In response, Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara stressed the importance of filing cases with accurate evidence to prevent accused individuals from evading accountability. He requested patience for two more months to observe the progress of ongoing investigations.
